Casual Office Assistant
Position Summary
Reporting to and partnering with the Administrator, the Office Assistant will play a critical role in representing the R.M. of Pense to ratepayers and providing administrative support in all areas of the municipality.
Key Responsibilities/Duties
- Oversee a variety of clerical/reception duties including receipting payments, answering phone calls and responding to queries or requests from the public.
- Undertake accounting functions including bank reconciliation, accounts payable, accounts receivable and other reconciliations with guidance from the Administrator.
- Ensure the office is organized by keeping inventory of supplies, anticipating future needs and providing support where required.

- A strong willingness to learn.
- Excellent organizational skills with ability to handle multiple tasks, changing priorities, periodic heavy workloads.
- Ability to establish and maintain an excellent professional working relationship with the Administrator, Staff, Council and members of the public.
- Interpersonal skills with the ability to work cooperatively and productively in a team atmosphere, showing initiative and drive.
- Advanced computer skills and thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Experience in a municipal office is considered an asset.
Work Hours
Normal work hours for the Office Assistant will be 9:00 a.m. to Noon and 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., 1 – 2 days per week.
